About Me
Hello,
Welcome to my website! I am Nicole Kiernan a registered nurse with 29 years of experience. I am also a footcare nurse. The past 14 years I have been a medical careers instructor for a metro area school. Teaching anatomy and physiology, nursing assistant, and medical terminology.
My husband and I also own TEACHYOUCPR, providing CPR/First Aid classes to individuals, businesses, and professionals in the medical field.
I took the leap! I'm a business owner fulltime, this has been a dream of mine.
To become a footcare nurse I completed the required classes, completed 30 hours of mentored patient contact time, volunteered doing foot care on the homeless, gaining experience and confidence to give the best professional service.
I couldn't be more excited to provide this important care to you!
Foot care has always been a passion of mine in my nursing career, in the forefront., diabetic foot care. My husband and father are both diabetic. All to often I have seen what happens if footcare is overlooked.
My grandparents had a hard time reaching their feet to do basic nailcare, when I saw the condition their feet were in, I was sad that they could not do this on their own anymore. I couldn't imagine how their feet felt in shoes. I clipped the thick nails, and applied lotion to their feet hoping to provide comfort to them. I wish I had the training I do now back then, I could of helped their feet so much more.
No one should have toe nails that hurt them. I want to provide this care to those in need, making sure their feet look and feel the best they can.
The greatest complements since starting this footcare journey is the smiles after I have finished a clients feet. And them telling me how great they feel. I even had a client tell me they felt like they were "walking on clouds now"
I am so appreciative of all my clients allowing me to provide cares to themselves, or loved ones, and welcoming me into their homes. But most of all the connections and conversations I have with them. It sure warms my heart!
Foot Fairies will provide care to all clients with compassion, empathy, and a gentle hand. My motto is "Adding a little SPARKLE to your SOUL" this means making your feet look and feel the best that they can.
Everyone should be able to put their best foot forward in comfort.
In my free time I love travel especially cruises, spending time with my four children and family, playing BINGO with my husband, and racing my wiener dog Rocco. My family may say I am obsessed with my three dachshunds, and anything with glitter. And they just may be right!
Thank you for checking out my website I hope to add that SPARKLE to your feet soon.
Best,
Nicole
Spa Pedicure vs Footcare by A Nurse
Getting a pedicure can be a nice and relaxing way to treat yourself, but if you require more than aesthetic treatment, you may benefit from foot care nursing services.
The main difference between a pedicure and foot care is that pedicures include physical enhancements like nail polish. Whereas nursing foot care treats patients with health issues. Nail technicians and spa employees may be registered massage therapists, however, they are not licensed nurses providing professional foot care nursing services.

With changes in podiatry, physician practices & insurance coverage, routine nail care is no longer commonly performed by many podiatrists.

Foot Care Nurses have undergone specialized training in providing essential foot & nail care services.
Foot Care Nurses play a vital role in bridging this healthcare void.
